Owned and managed by Ian Cruikshank, Fret is the kind of label sometimes reffered to as a boutique label. Committed to high quality recordings of the finest Gypsy Jazz artists in the world. Fret, like its artists, is not interested by musical fads, fashions or hype, only in music that lasts. Ian Cruikshank began to study music and the style of Django Reinhardt in 1978. He has promoted many tours for Gypsy guitarists from the continent, as well as being the author of books on the subject. Ian was also Co-Producer and music co-ordinator for the Channel 4 TV documentary "Django - The legacy".
